DevOps Specialist
Job Description
Job Title: DevOps Specialist
Department: Cyber Security | Location: Remote | Type: Contract
Reports To: Cyber Security Team Lead
Role Summary
10Alytics is seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps Specialist to join its Cyber Security Department on a contract basis. The successful candidate will design, implement, and maintain the secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure that powers 10Alytics’ learning platforms, internship programs, and internal operations. Reporting to the Cyber Security Team Lead, the DevOps Specialist will automate infrastructure, manage cloud environments, run CI/CD pipelines, and embed security best practices across the software development lifecycle — while supporting the hands-on lab environments our learners depend on.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain secure, efficient CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
Deploy and manage containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes across development, testing, and production environments.
Partner with Cyber Security, Software Engineering, and product teams to integrate DevSecOps best practices — including infrastructure hardening, access controls, and cloud security.
Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability; automate operational processes and configure logging, monitoring, and alerting to reduce manual intervention.
Build and maintain cloud-based lab environments that power practical learning and internship projects for 10Alytics learners.
Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and vulnerability remediation, and maintain clear documentation for infrastructure and deployment processes.
Required Qualifications (Must-haves)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience.
Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or DevOps Specialist, with strong Linux administration and hands-on experience on AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps, and managing containers with Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation), Git workflows, and scripting in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
Working understanding of DevSecOps principles, networking fundamentals (DNS, VPN, firewalls, load balancing), and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or HashiCorp Terraform Associate.
Experience supporting educational technology platforms or technical training environments.
Prior experience working within a cybersecurity-focused team.
Success Measures
Successfully onboard every learner cohort onto secure, reliable lab and training environments with zero critical downtime during onboarding windows.
Achieve the target student-to-job-offer conversion rate by keeping learning platforms, assessment tools, and interview-prep infrastructure consistently available.
Deliver hands-on internship and interview-prep lab projects on schedule, so mentors and learners can focus on skills, not on broken environments.
Why Join Us
The infrastructure you build directly shapes careers — every pipeline, dashboard, and lab you ship helps a learner move into a real tech role.
Work at the intersection of Cyber Security and EdTech on a small, senior team where your decisions reach learners in days, not quarters, with room to shape how DevSecOps is practised across the platform.
